John 14:13 says “Whatever you ask in my name , this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.”
This is telling us that there is power in the name Jesus! As if you really needed a reminder about that. But let us examine this verse. First thing that comes to mind is that word WHATEVER. That means anything, big or small, easy or hard.Whatever you ask in my name I will do. That is one huge promise! Hallelujah. This is a faith building verse. Jesus Himself says that you ask anything in his name and he will do it.
So prayer warriors get out your lists. All of those people around you that need transformation in their lives. Pray that their hearts will be softened and that you will have the opportunity to present the gospel to them. Watch how miraculously it will come to pass! Because of the promise in this verse you can have faith in what you are speaking in your prayers.
“16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, He may give it to you. 17 These things I command you, so that you will love one another.” John 15:16-17.
There goes that promise again, Whatever you ask the Father in my name, He may give it to you. So if you didn’t hear it enough the first time, I am telling you again. Build up your faith. Jesus is clear. As if it weren’t enough to stand on the promise that our prayers will be answered, Jesus also has a reason for being so wonderful.John 16:23-24 says “… 23 Truly, truly I say to you, whatever you ask of the Father in my name , He will give it to you. 24 Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.”
Jesus wants our joy to be full. It is not meant for us to be sad, and downtrodden Christians. We are meant to be full of joy. Are you full of joy? Have you been bringing your petition to God in the name of Jesus? Are you praying with faith that whatever you ask for will be given to you? Do you believe in your prayers?
We seem to have nothing but we have the name of Jesus. The name of Jesus is the name above all names.
So name your mountain. Divorce, famine, strife, poverty, anger, division, malice, unbelief, cancer, diabetes, aids. You name it and the name of Jesus is above it all.
There is no other name given to mankind that will bring salvation. Call on the name Jesus.
